Insomnia is a common problem for millions of people all over the world.  With unending and increasing stress, one of the many casualties is our ability to sleep.  Also due to incredible technologies our sleep habits have been impacted dramatically.  Sleep is no longer what it used to be.  Medications for insomnia are sold and consumed by the billions and have variable results, many have poor results and frequently the patient gets used to the medication (habituated) or actually addicted.  Hangover from medications can impact the day’s functioning.  Their use in many patients lead to falls and their consequences. On the other hand, hypnosis is very useful for sleep problems and is without side effects.  Just as in stop smoking treatment with hypnosis, or in weight loss hypnosis comparisons between medications and hypnosis in controlled studies show the advantage of hypnosis over medications.
