I studied Biology in college with an interest in veterinary medicine. As graduation approached I changed courses and went to medical school instead. I finished medical school in 1976 and started my postgraduate training in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 1978, finishing in 1982. At that time I started working as a bona fide specialist in Harlingen, TX.
Around 35 years ago, I began studying hypnosis and applying it to the patient in labor in order to get rid of labor pains. It is a great method to alleviate and prevent pain of all kinds. A great deal of time was necessary in order to prepare the patient for her labor. With my practice growing, it was not feasible to expend that time on each patient. For that reason I converted my efforts in hypnosis in order to help others with problems where the time invested was closer to hours rather than days. About 6-7 years ago I stopped delivering babies and my schedule freed up a great deal and so I grew my hypnosis practice.
Medical doctors in the US and abroad are trained scientifically to diagnose and treat patients. Many tools are available both for diagnosis and for treatment in medicine. Yet for the majority of MD’s hypnosis and its applications is taught only in passing if at all. Hypnosis, an incredible tool is being overlooked.
I have always been glad to have added hypnosis in my diagnostic and treatment toolbox.
